Momber, who for over 25 years has recorded the history
of activism, arts and culture of the Lower East Side.
A silent auction
will include valuable items donated by many of our sponsors.
Those being
honored at the 25th Anniversery include Maria
Cruz, founder and former Executive Director of
Sixth Street Community Center. Will
Sales, poet and longtime SSCC Board member, Carolyn
Ratcliffe, Executive Director
of La
Plaza Cultural Park and Community Garden, and Brian
Tokar, author and leader in the movement against
genetic engineering. Brian will conclude the awards ceremony with
a short address on the state of the movement and the challenges
ahead.
